Feeder cattle receipts at the test auctions rebounded after the latest round of storms with 47,000 head, up 21,000 head from the previous week and 6,000 higher than last year. Prices were mostly either side of steady from $1 lower to $1 higher but there was a little more variation on lighter weight, stocker type cattle partially because of very low numbers.

Slaughter cow receipts at the test auctions were higher with well over 8,000 head, also because of fewer storms. The prices were mostly steady to $1 higher, but some auctions that were a little low last week jumped a couple of dollars. Those auctions that were really high last week because of limited numbers due to storms backed up a few dollars. Prices started to even out more between the different regions this week.
