Receipts at the test auctions were 28,800 head almost the same as last year and typical holiday situation with auctions shut down late last week that we normally use. Bulk of the prices were either side of steady from $1 lower to $1 higher but compared to the last good test two weeks ago. Calves had the most success, which is typical this time of the year.

There were fewer slaughter cows available because of the holiday week, which forced cow buyers to be more aggressive with smaller numbers even though the cow meat prices dropped a little. The cow prices were mostly steady to $1 higher.
