Once again, ASA has been given the opportunity to partner with the University of Illinois for a Shorthorn sire test. The U of I has offered 300 Angus-based commercial cows to AI to the Shorthorn bulls selected for the Sire Test. Data will be collected on the Shorthorn-sired calves from birth through harvest, including docility scores, feed efficiency data, and carcass data on all calves. This valuable information will be included in the ASA database for future genetic evaluations.

Sire spots in the ASA/U of I Sire Test are limited. For more information on the test or to nominate your bull, contact Matt Woolfolk at the ASA office. (matt@shorthorn.org; 731-694-6469)
