As with the typical fall run, there was a very big 10,000 head jump in feeder cattle numbers with 36,600 head at the test auctions. Price trends at auctions were quoted steady to $3 higher early in the week but then dropped by Wednesday on the heels of the declining CME feeder cattle.

Similarly, there was very big run of slaughter cows at the test auctions with over 10,000 head. Prices were $1-3 lower. Cow meat prices on Wednesday were very similar to the previous week, but they had been much lower at times during the week.
