The daily spot Choice box beef cutout ended the week last Friday at $209.88 which was $3.36 higher compared to previous Friday helped by the daily rise from middle meats. They continued to climb to 217.37 by Wednesday, Feb 21. The daily Choice rib primal jumped almost $30 dollars in three weeks and was $345 on Wednesday but that compared to about $284 last year so it appears the grilling season rally started very early this year.

However, the weekly average Choice cutout was $205.27 which was $3.81 lower and pushed down some by the very big out-front sales. The largest out-front sales this week was an enormous 6 million lbs. of Choice and Select round products that had average out-front prices that were mostly $3-30 lower than the average formula prices for the same products.
