February 7, 2025

St. Joseph, Missouri – The National Center for Beef Excellence (NCBE) is pleased to announce the addition of Kaylee Gum to its team in the role of Customer Service Representative. Gum joined the organization on December 16, 2024, bringing a wealth of experience in the livestock industry.

Gum grew up in southeast Kansas on a small cow-calf operation and has been involved in the livestock industry for most of her life. She attended Kansas State University, majoring in animal science, before taking a summer internship with Purina at Jackson Farmers, Meriden, KS.

This experience led to a two-year stint in the agriculture industry, further honing her skills and knowledge.

In her role at NCBE, Gum will be responsible for answering phones, assisting with registrations, and working closely with South Poll and Red Devon breed association members. She is currently focused on helping South Poll members with their whole herd reporting and animal registrations.

“I’m looking forward to getting to know producers and helping them navigate the registration process. It’s rewarding to be able to have meaningful conversations with members and learn about their operations,” Gum shared.

As she gains more experience, Gum is expected to take on additional responsibilities, including assisting in the management of the Aberdeen Angus Association under the guidance of NCBE Executive Director, Becky Miller.

“We are excited to have Kaylee join our team,” said Miller. “Her background in the livestock industry and her passion for working with producers make her an excellent fit for our growing organization.”

The National Center for Beef Excellence serves the beef industry by facilitating innovation and connectivity through different segments of the beef industry. Gum’s addition to the team will further enhance NCBE’s ability to provide excellent service to its members and advance its mission of fostering collaboration, driving profitability and enhancing productivity for beef producers.
